Discovery® Peptides is the new peptide catalogue business from Cambridge Research Biochemicals (CRB).
CRB, the 2nd oldest peptide company in the world has had a 22 year break (1994-2016) from a catalogue business and in it’s 36th year celebrated by launching a brand new off-the-shelf peptide business called Discovery® Peptides.
Discovery® Peptides will focus on peptides for research (early drug ‘discovery’) and will complement our very successful and long-standing custom peptide business (www.crbdiscovery.com). We are already well known for novel, complex, long, modified and labelled peptides and these technical qualities will feature in our Discovery® Peptides catalogue range.
We launched our Discovery® Peptides in February 2016 some 240 years after Captain James Cook, (the greatest explorer of his time) set off in 1776 from England aboard the ‘HMS Discovery’ to charter new waters and ‘discover’ new lands around the globe. Thus the name ‘Discovery’ seemed fitting to a North-East-based manufacturer – the home town of James Cook.
Further parallels arise between the quest for new found lands around the world in the late 1700s and new ‘discoveries’ in medical research and the mapping of the human genome in 2000.
